Lombardy is home to five DOCG wines, the highest category in the Italian wine classification system, and all are produced in stunningly scenic areas, perfect for immersive wine tours

In Lombardy, it's easy to explore the history, culinary heritage and evolution of Italy’s wine culture.


Choose Your Wine Tour:

1 Franciacorta and Lago Iseo:
the famous region producing refined sparkling wines using the traditional method, often called Italian Champagne! Visit renowned wineries, enjoy a delicious lunch and soak in breathtaking views over the hills surrounding Lake Iseo.

2 Bergamo and Moscato Scanzo DOCG:
immerse yourself in the charm of Bergamo, known for its historical landmarks and family-owned wineries. If you come in season, you’ll see the Appassimento method in action and even participate in the grape harvest!
✨ Bonus: taste the favourite wine of Catherine the Great, delivered to her by the Bergamo-born architect Giacomo Quarenghi!

3 Valtellina and Sforzato DOCG:
this journey brings you through Valtellina with its views of Lake Como and wines made from the local Nebbiolo clone called Chiavennasca. Enjoy scenic hiking trails, sample Sforzato (a powerful, meditative red wine) and go rafting down the Adda River through terraced vineyards. Tour includes a visit to a historic winery and a guided tasting.

4 Lugana DOC and Lago di Garda:
Discover elegant Lugana wines at Ca’ Maiol winery, celebrated for their unique terroir and fragrant profiles. Experience a thematic tasting and explore the magical town of Sirmione with its charming alleys, thermal baths, Roman villa ruins (Grotte di Catullo) and the Scaliger Castle.
✨ Optional: Join a regatta on Lake Garda!

5 Oltrepò Pavese and Pinot Nero
Enjoy a picnic and tasting at Manuelina winery. This region is famous for its Pinot Noir, produced in two styles: still red and traditional-method sparkling. Also worth trying: Rieslings from this area. If you come during harvest time, you’ll be welcomed to the Vendemmia celebration!

  • Bergamo and Moscato Scanzo DOCG

    Bergamo, funicular, pinacoteca, winery, photo session in the vineyard.

    We will definitely try Catherine the Great's favorite wine, which was brought to her by Bergamo native Quarenghi! We will also see the appassimento method in action (depending on the season) and find out why a Moscato consortium is needed!
  • Franciacorta -
    Italian champagne

    Excellent sparkling wines are produced in the hills surrounding the southern shore of Lake Iseo and on Monte Orfano, which form the natural border between Franciacorta and the Po Valley. Did you know that Italians call sparkling wine "Bollicine" - "Bubbles"?

    And in season we will have a harvest with lunch at the winery!

  • Valtellina and Sforzato DOCG 🍷and hiking

    On the way to Valtellina we will enjoy the panorama of Lake Como, and also learn about "Heroic winemaking", why wines from the local Nebbiolo grape variety are called Chiavennasca and try the meditative Sforzato.

    An unforgettable experience for those who love adventure and unique emotions: a descent along the Adda River to enjoy the views of the terraced vineyards of Valtellina.

  • Lugana DOC and Lago di Garda

    You will experience exquisite Lugana and the harmony of aromas and atmosphere of the land, a themed tasting at the Ca Maiol winery. And also the unique charm of Sirmione with its narrow streets, the thermal baths of Catullus, the churches of Santa Maria Maggiore and San Pietro in Mavino and the ruins of the Roman villa of the poet Catullus, known as La Grotta di Catullo Castello Scaligero di Sirmione.
    And! Participation in the regatta on Lake Garda (upon request).
